HOW DO I FIND A MENTOR FOR MY CHILD?

Our chapters are based in 60 colleges and high schools in 20 states across the country. These are our Mentor Schools. Each college or high school partners with a nearby middle school to serve as the Mentee School.

If your child has been labeled with a math- and/or language-based learning disability and/or ADHD and you know that your child is in a school where a chapter already exists, great! Just email us with your child's name, school, and grade, and we will connect you with the National Program Coordinator who supports that chapter.

HOW DO I BECOME A MENTOR?

Take a look at our chapter list. If you are a current student at any of our Mentor Schools and you have been labeled with a math- and/or language-based learning disability and/or ADHD, you are qualified to be an Eye to Eye Mentor! Email us and we will connect you with the National Program Coordinator who supports that chapter.

HOW DO I START A CHAPTER?

To request to start a chapter at your college or high school (or your child's middle school), please fill out our Chapter Request Form. Keep in mind that each chapter needs a committed high school or college, a partnering middle school, and sustainable funding. Please note: each year, Eye to Eye receives over 100 requests to open a new chapter, but due to team and budget limitations, we can only accommodate a small handful of those requests. The chapter selection process is typically made in the winter, with new chapters beginning in the following fall.

MY CHILD DOESN'T GO TO A MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH AN EYE TO EYE CHAPTER. CAN MY CHILD JOIN ANOTHER CHAPTER?

We typically pair one college or high school with only one middle school, so unfortunately, children from other schools can't participate. However, some of our larger chapters are expanding into second middle schools, so please fill out our Chapter Request Form with your school's information to be placed on an expansion waiting list.

HOW CAN I GET MY CHILD INVOLVED IN EYE TO EYE OTHER THAN THROUGH A CHAPTER?

Our Co-Founder and CEO, David Flink, has written a book about his LD journey, "Thinking Differently: An Inspiring Guide for Parents of Children with Learning Disabilities." The book has plenty of advice for supporting your child and helping Eye to Eye build an LD / ADHD movement. You can buy the book on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iTunes, and many other online retailers.

We offer a weeklong summer camp called Camp Eye to Eye, where we condense our yearlong mentoring model into a week. If you have any questions about Camp Eye to Eye, please visit the camp section of our website.

Another option would be to have one of our successful college student speakers come to your child's school through our Eye to Eye Diplomats program. In their presentations, our trained student speakers, who all have LD / ADHD, walk the audience through their journeys of educational and personal change, providing a new understanding of LD / ADHD and "learning" itself. At the core is a message of personal empowerment, academic success, and educational revolution for people who learn differently. If you would like to learn more about this option, email Alyssa Tierney.

I AM AN ADULT LABELED WITH LD / ADHD. HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

First, welcome to our community! One way to get connected with other members of our LD / ADHD community is by joining us online on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Youtube.

Our Alumn'Eye Program is creating a list of adults LD / ADHD who may be able to provide guidance to our college students. If you would like to include your name on that list, please email email Katie Watson.

In addition, we frequently hold advocacy and fundraising events, primarily in the New York City area. Sign up for our email list so that you can make sure to find out about our upcoming events.

You can also bring an Eye to Eye Diplomat to your school, community, or workplace to discuss LD / ADHD empowerment and success.

Finally, you can get involved in our movement by being open about your LD / ADHD label and sharing your experiences with the people in your life. Check out our tips on talking about your LD / ADHD.
