Become an Eye to Eye School: Ask About Our Grant Initiatives!
For 25 years, Eye to Eye has been a trailblazer in fostering inclusivity for neurodivergent students, and we’re excited to share the impact and outcomes of our 2022-2023 Near-Peer Mentoring Program. Across the nation, we launched over 370 Mentoring Sessions, turning traditional classrooms into vibrant hubs of creativity and encouragement in 23 states. As we launch recruitment for the 2024-25 mentoring program, we invite your school to join our community and become an Eye to Eye school.
Last year, we trained over 300 high school and college students as peer mentors. These mentors, in turn, made a profound impact on the lives of more than 280 middle and upper elementary school students, fostering personalized connections that extend beyond the conventional learning experience. The results are inspiring – 91% of mentees and 98% of mentors maintained or advanced their development in one or more core Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) skills.
Furthermore, the program benefited the mentors by creating a supportive community, with 90% of mentors reporting a growing sense of belonging and group identity with their peers.
Eye to Eye is more than just a mentoring program; it’s a movement that has partnered with K-12 school districts, higher education institutions, and community partners for 25 years. Offering a holistic approach, Eye to Eye provides a mentoring program for neurodiverse students, professional learning opportunities for educators, and engaging speakers to raise awareness of neurodiversity.
As Eye to Eye enthusiastically kicks off recruitment for the 2024-25 mentoring program cohort, schools are invited to join this empowering community.
